MCA debt in Indiana
Indiana has about 591,700 small businesses, which account for roughly 43% of the state's employment, according to the SBA Office of Advocacy's 2025 profile. Health care, manufacturing and restaurants employ the most people, and those are sectors where daily or weekly MCA debits are common.
Indiana MCA law: what actually protects you
Disclosure
Indiana is not among the states that require standardized MCA cost disclosures. That makes an independent review of each offer more important.
Confessions of judgment
Indiana is one of the strongest states on this point. A warrant of attorney to confess judgment given before a debt is due is void (IC 34-54-3), and judgments from other states based on one can't be executed in Indiana or become a lien.
Usury
Indiana's loansharking statute targets very high consumer rates; for business credit, usury arguments usually depend on the New York law most MCA contracts choose.
What this means for Indiana owners
Indiana law works in your favor on confessions of judgment: a pre-signed clause in your MCA shouldn't be enforceable here, so a funder that wants a judgment generally has to sue you and prove its case. On the rate side, Indiana law gives business borrowers little usury protection, so your leverage is more likely to come from the reconciliation clause, documentation of your revenue and a clear plan for each funder.
If you're behind on an MCA in Indiana
- If a funder obtained a confession-of-judgment judgment in another state, Indiana law may block its enforcement here.
- Medical and dental practices: see our healthcare page on matching payments to reimbursement cycles.
- Manufacturers: see our manufacturing page on long customer terms.
- Check for UCC liens before applying for new financing. See how to check for a UCC lien.
- Don't take a new advance to cover an old one without modeling the combined debit. See how MCA stacking works.
How we help Indiana owners
Our role is narrow on purpose: we're independent advisors, paid a flat fee, with no lender partnerships and no cut of any settlement. For Indiana owners that means a free first review of your MCA contracts and cash flow, then a written plan weighing reconciliation, renegotiation, refinancing, settlement through a licensed provider, or attorney review.

We work with owners throughout Indiana, including Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, Evansville, South Bend, Carmel and Fishers.
